Front view of Indian Village in Cave Creek AZ

Have you ever experienced something truly one of a kind? Well, if not then I would surely recommend visiting Indian Village in Cave Creek, Arizona. It is also referred to as Bart's Indian Village, but you wouldn't know as it's not mentioned on any of the signage. They have been in business since 1972 although the building looks older than that!

We had driven past it many times and it always attracted my eye. We finally stopped in one day. This was before I saw the movie "More Than Frybread". We've been back many times since.

It's a Souvenir Shop and a Restaurant

If you go for the food because someone recommends it, you might be a bit confused when you first step inside. You'll walk through a rickety-looking screened-in front porch with…

I finally stopped into the City Creamery in Cave Creek, AZ, with my son and husband after dinner at El Encanto restaurant a while back after driving past it many times after we moved to Cave Creek from Scottsdale.  We kept our car parked at El Encanto and walked over to the ice cream shop.

We loved the selection of ice cream available.  They have classic flavors and a rotation of seasonal offerings.  You can get an ice cream cone or a bowl, sundaes, shakes/malts, sodas (including cold brew nitro), and even some fudge in a jar.  You can also purchase pints to take home.  My favorite flavor is double chocolate orange but sometimes I'll try one of the seasonal ice creams.

Below is one of my favorite flavors I've had so far - candy corn. …

Bryan's Black Mountain BBQ

bryan's bbq ordering area

Both my husband Jimmy and I had read about Bryan's Black Mountain Barbecue in Cave Creek online.  We were eager to try it.  I had driven past it a couple of times without seeing it, so I thought it was down one of the streets in Cave Creek where the bars, dining, and shops are on North Cave Creek Rd.

We had visited Carefree Desert Gardens and were on our way home when we finally found it - right on Cave Creek Rd - and were excited to go in.  As we drove down Cave Creek Rd on a Sunday afternoon, the bars were packed.  I will admit that we tried The Grotto first but there was a long line outside and no one was distancing.  We then went to El Encanto but there was an hour wait - we were hungry!  That's when we remembered…
